“So this is Christmas and what have we done. Another year over and a new one...” reflects John Lennon, in that beautiful seasonal track that we hear so much these days. Do you believe how quickly 2009 has flashed by? I think many of us are looking forward to the new year and that breath of fresh air that it seems to deliver. How was 2009 for you? Will you be looking forward to rebooting your system and leaving the past behind, or will you be looking to capitalize on an existing, refreshed outlook?
2010 represents hope and new prospects and this is a great time to really analyze your position in life and what you want to do to make a difference, both for yourself and for your loved ones, as you go forward.
So what's next? Resolutions of course… Well not so fast.
You see in my experience not everyone is ready to put the pen to paper and set up the next year of their life. We know that 97% of people do not follow through on their resolutions. Why is that?
· Are they setting too high of expectations for themselves?
· Do most people want to fail?
· Are they scared to grow and step into the person we want to be?
· Does society make it too hard to stick to commitments?
· Are they just bad at planning?
You know in my opinion our problems do NOT lie in the questions above. In fact I am sure they don't.
I have found the problem to the New Year’s resolution failure rate, and it’s not your fault.
I am going to tell you to do the opposite of what my peers and SOCIETY are saying to do. Don’t set goals for 2010... yet! Not today… Not tomorrow… maybe not even next week. First we have something else to do. I will follow up in a few days to give you some more insight on when, how and how NOT to set up your New Year's Resolutions for 2010.

Let's have some fun! Who doesn't like Christmas morning? When we were young this was one of the most magical days of our lives, as we looked forward with excitement to all those wonderful gifts and to that special family day. Why does it have to be any different today, especially when you can have three times the fun by ensuring that each of the three women who live inside you have their own moments!
The Frenchie wants to bask in the indulgence of Christmas day gifts, realizing that it is a time to pamper the inner self. She does not always get the opportunity to enjoy this “me” time and would really love one of those gift baskets, complete with special fragrances, bath oils, aromatic candles. Christmas evening could be spent locked away in the bathroom, indulging with a soak in the hot tub.
The New Yorker is always about business and already has an eye on the new year, just around the corner. It would be great if she received a nice, leather-bound comprehensive planner and diary, to help keep things on track. How about membership to one of those exclusive networking clubs for the new year or the latest iPhone – just the right size for the Christmas stocking?
Christmas Day is one of the busiest for the Indie, as the laid-back and contented mother may be in her element, reveling in the very spirit that Christmas represents. Indie doesn't want to be stressed however, she wants to be relaxed and ready for the true meaning of Christmas. The previous evening could be spent listening to a really nice meditation tape and sampling the aromas of some incense sticks, while browsing over dinnertable recipes for the big day.
So which gift will you be giving yourself this Christmas?
