Vs.
Can I be personal just for a sec?
Recently I completed something I had been thinking about for years. In essence, my very well thought out plan was ready to be unveiled.
The work and planning that went into this was pristine and it was going to be a complete success.
If I went forward with it lives would be changed. I had committed to the plan and I was feeling I had to follow through, so much was already in motion. I felt like I couldn't stop.
But there was a problem. My planning did not take something HUGE into consideration.
You see yesterday was the birthday of my first born son Mason. He passed away from pneumonia back in 02. Please don't feel sad when I say that, it was one of the most beautiful gifts of my life. It taught me compassion, and I needed to remember that gift of compassion for myself yesterday.
So here is the lesson and the mind shift you can put into place today to make the “RIGHT” choices.
It will help you avoid getting into the cycle of no time with too many things to do and feeling like you are on a treadmill with no OFF button. The truth is you do have a choice and so did I.
After I looked at what I was about to do yesterday I realized it was all business (New Yorker for the newbies;)
At first I thought it would be ok because this is always a very powerful day for me. In fact some of my biggest successes have actually materialized on this day.
Then as I was taking my walk to the beach yesterday I thought about my spirit (Indie;).
Sometimes one of your 3 women is in the zone and can almost dominate you. It didn’t happen to me this time, but it almost did.
Rather than letting my New Yorker take the stage, I decided to honor my Indie and take some time for me.
I changed my perspective just a little and noticed that I was in danger of allowing myself to get out of balance.
By acting quickly you too can make a “change of plans” that best supports your ultimate vision, the authentic YOU.
We have these opportunities every day. Sometimes it is as small as taking 5 minutes to get up from your desk and taking a walk to go smell some flowers in your garden.
Other times it is something even more monumental that is so obvious that you just have to say YES to you.
Honoring these times will give you what you need and are missing in your life, a true sense of balance. I encourage you to keep your eyes open when these presents show up in your life. Ask yourself:
"What can I do today to make a “Change in Plans” that will allow me to really take care of myself?"
Have a beautiful day and please hug the people you love.
With love and beauty always... Tara Marino
