Bonjour...I'm Tara

The topic of aging is something that’s so front and center in society, and in my own life right now. However, I feel like this is a conversation that we don’t have to have, or that we’re obligated to have, but it’s one we get to have as women right now, which is why I want to talk about it today on the podcast.

In this potent episode, you’ll hear:

  • The reasons why I look at aging as both a blessing and a gift [4:52]
  • One of the specific questions that really supports me on my journey of aging [10:13]
  • My experiences in going through 5 IVF cycles and how it affected my body at that time [12:35]
  •  The forms of movement and rest that serve me when it comes to connecting and listening to my body more [15:06]
  • How it’s ok to feel everything that comes up with aging [20:02]

When it comes to aging, I believe that it is a blessing and a gift  that we allow ourselves, and there are absolutely no rules that you have to follow or adhere to. That’s why I feel it is  perfectly ok for you to experience resistance, sadness, and all the feelings that come with it. I hope that by sharing my thought process and experiences with aging, it will help you as well on your very own journey.

If this conversation fuels you, I want to share that we are having our final chapter, our last Elegant Femme live event at the end of November. Quotes:

“Us judging each other for the way with which we are choosing to experience again is what I really invite all of us to let go of.” [4:15]

“For me, this topic of aging is not about we can’t do anything or we’re resisting aging, or the other extreme of we have to do everything, or else.” [8:17]

“When I think about the embodiment of the woman that I know I am, and I consider being a grandmother and having long, beautiful hair with gray streaks and probably still full lips, [it’s like] we get to create our own vision about [aging].” [17:53]

“The whole integration between the spiritual and the physical is what Elegant Femme stands for. [It’s] really moving away from the idea that only certain things are spiritual and that if we engage in natural desires, we are somehow less than spiritual. It’s just simply not true.” [18:44]

“It’s ok to come up with some resistance, conflict, aggravation, sadness, frustration or fear inside of the physical world experience, in all of it. As we age, it brings up a lot of our stuff and it’s ok.” [20:02]
